Dear Ministers of the Great Revival Missouri District
I am amazed and overwhelmed at the response from across the great Missouri District for the Outpouring ’09 service last Sunday night. When I walked into the Dome that night I instantly became excited and filled with faith as I saw our district come together in an unprecedented manner for an unprecedented harvest.
David Smith preached a faith-building message in his unique way, bringing the people’s hearts into a readiness to receive the greatest gift from God. When the invitation was given, hundreds began to press their way forward. I was thrilled to see literally hundreds of our ministers and altar workers come behind them to help reap the harvest.
Here are some of the notable takeaways from “Outpouring ‘09”:
1. I was informed by Bishop Kenneth Haney on the platform that this was the best-attended Sunday night crusade-type service since they began doing them six years ago.
2. The Edward Jones Dome personnel estimated the Sunday night attendance to be approximately 8800. This also appeared to be the largest crowd of the entire General Conference.
3. Here are the first-time infilling numbers:
a. 525 Sunday night
b. 119 on the streets Friday & Saturday (including 4 at Old Spaghetti Factory after the outpouring)
c. 79 from webcasts piped into 34 local churches around the country
d. 723 total first-time infillings of the Holy Ghost
e. 122 baptized
f. Only first-time infillings were counted. The Outpouring ’09 team estimated that there were up to another 400 who were refilled with the Holy Ghost that night. It is believed that between 1500 and 1800 came forward to be filled or refilled and very few were disappointed.
We have distributed the information cards of those who were first-time filled among the pastors who are in close proximity to the addresses we received. We are counting on them to make contact with these fresh Spirit-filled believers immediately before the harvest spoils.
I want to express my deepest appreciation to Bro. Scott Graham who did one forevermore fantastic job of coordinating the District portion of the General Conference. I received no complaints but only compliments and kudos for he and those who worked with him. Also, we are indebted to Bro Mitchell Bland who served as our conference head usher. He performed admirably under very difficult circumstances, for which we are thankful.
There is no doubt in my mind that Missouri will forever feel the impact of this mighty outpouring. May God richly bless all of you for your participation in this united effort. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
Yours for reaching Missouri with the only saving Gospel,
Stan Gleason
District Superintendent
